CPE Technology Overview

From LTE to 5G: The Full FWA Portfolio

Fixed Wireless Access CPE bridges the gap between the cell tower and the subscriber premises — converting radio signals into wired Ethernet for home or office use. CLATA supplies carrier-grade outdoor and indoor CPEs across LTE, CBRS, 5G Sub-6GHz, and 5G mmWave bands, compatible with all major base station vendors.

CPE selection depends on: frequency band of the network, distance from tower, indoor vs. outdoor installation requirements, and target throughput per subscriber. Our engineering team helps ISPs and operators select the optimal CPE model for each subscriber zone within their coverage footprint.

Compatible with all major base station vendors (vendor-neutral)
Outdoor CPE: directional antennas for maximum gain at cell edge
Indoor CPE: self-install, no professional antenna pointing required
CBRS B48 CPEs with SAS client for automatic interference coordination
5G NSA and SA architecture support
Integrated Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) in enterprise CPE models
CPE Selection Guide
CBRS B48 LTE OutdoorISP rural subscriber access — 10–20 km range, 150 Mbps, directional antenna, SAS client. Self or professional install.
5G Sub-6GHz (n77/n78) OutdoorUrban/suburban FWA — 5–10 km range, 1–2 Gbps, MIMO 4x4, tri-band combo LTE+5G.
5G mmWave (n258/n261) OutdoorDense urban gigabit FWA — 300m range, 4 Gbps peak, phased array antenna, low latency (<5ms).
Enterprise CPE (LTE/5G + Wi-Fi 6)Business FWA — integrated Wi-Fi 6 AP, dual SIM failover, VPN client, VLAN support, 19" rack option.
